Evans struck back the following day when he won the tough Tour of the Sperrins ahead of Murphy. A nine man break went clear early on, with Murphy and Evans making their move after Gortin. Evans jumped clear in the closing miles and finished 25 seconds clear, while Evans' team-mate Aaron Deane took third.

Bill Moore (Stamullen M. Donnelly), Hamilton and Crory completed the top six.
