Ware takes wet race

Race number nine of the Peel Cycling Club's mid-week Time Trial Series was held in miserable conditions. The wild weather dramatically reduced the field, with gusty winds and showers sweeping across the course.

Riders in the Bonser Time Trial Series were up to three minutes outside their best times with Steve Ware proving to be the quickest on the night with a 26min 41sec for the 16 kilometres. Further back Joe Cox clocked 27min 51sec, Darryl Harris 28min 26sec, with Leigh Kiewiet 29min 08sec and Andrew Crack 29min 53sec.

Joe Cox continues to lead the series on 38pts with Stan Baker closing in on 37pts, Andy Bennett 30 and Jim Matthews on 27.
