Ladies braved miserable and rainy conditions to take part in Round 4 of the 2007 TREK Ladies Road Racing Series Today. Whilst the weather wasn't bright and sunny, the weather gods were kind for a couple of hours while 31 women completed the 40km out and back Handicap, which was held at Rosewood.

A strong breakaway saw two D Grade ladies, Rebecca Shipston (Ffast) and Marie-Louise Moseley (Balmoral) safely secure top two placings. The 11 minute handicap from the GO markers to A Grade proved to be too tough with a bunch of riders chasing hard a few km's from the finish, but to no avail.

Line honours in D Grade and first over the line went to Rebecca Shipstone (Ffast) ahead of MarieLouise Moseley (Balmoral), Saskia Decers (Ffast) and Kim Andrew (Lifecycle) rounding out the top four. In C Grade, first place went to Tess Prince (Ipswich) ahead of Simone Grounds (Lifecycle), Sue-Anne McKenzie Smith (Lifecycle) and Heather Kinang (Ffast). In the U17 race (combined with C grade) which was won by Sunshine Coast's Jodie Harris ahead of Jasmine Hurikino (Balmoral).

B Grade saw Balmoral take out a second victory for the day with Angeline Papajcsik taking the win ahead of Eloise Brigden-Anderson (Victor Broncos), Any Schramm (Ffast) and Melissa Anderson (Hamilton Pine River Wheelers). In A Grade, Sunshine Coast's Shara Gilow got her hands on a red TREK Race Winners jersey ahead of newcomer Imogen Smith (University), Claire McFeeter (CATS) and Sonya Keay (Hamilton Pine River Wheelers).

With one Round remaining, the competition is heating up. In the U17 division, Jodie Harris seems to have things well wrapped up leading the charge on 54 points. Jessica McKay and Shanice Nitis are both tied on 30 points with Jasmine Hurikind on 21 points. In D Grade, Marie-Louise Moseley is streaking ahead on 46 points ahead of Lauren Freeman (31 points), Wendy Norgren (24 points) and Louisa Montiford (22 points). In C Grade the competition for first place is tight with Ipswich's Tess Prince topping the leader board on 41 points ahead of Jane Youden (36 points), Sue-Anne McKenzie Smith (25 points) and Samantha Williams (18 points).

In B Grade, Ffast's Amy Schramm (41 points) is just ahead of fellow Club member Linda White (35 points). Angeline Papajcsik (33 points) and Eloise Bridgen-Anderson (32 points) round out the top 4 placings. In A Grade, Shara Gillow (40 points) and Sonya Keay (37 points) are neck and neck coming into the final Round with Loren Rowney (33 points) and Claire McFeeter(22 points) not too far behind.
