Ian Baker and Brett Bender burst from the leading group to contest the finish to Saturday's 46km handicap event. Baker crossed the line to win narrowly from his co-marker Brett Bender in second place. Daryl O'Keefe was third with John Burgess, after a strong ride in the difficult windy conditions, in forth place. Glen Jacobs was fifth and Glen Christensen, sixth.

Silas Fisher was again the dominant scratch rider - finishing seventh and recording fastest time of 1 hour 14 minutes. He was assisted by co-markers Alan Adams and Ron Burgess who chased hard to catch the leading groups after losing Shayne Kirby and Kevin Simmons to punctures.
