19 riders raced Saturday’s 56km handicap starting from Burgess Signs, Seymour to Locksley and return.

Fourteen riders were together at Mangalore with 5km to race.Alan Adams, Ron Burgess and Carl Simmons from scratch upped the tempo but couldn’t split the group.

Ken Dyson, Shane Edwards and Jeff Hibberd were able to cover the attacks, keeping the group intact for the finishing sprint.

Alan Adams crossed the line in first place with metres to spare from Shane Edwards and Ken Dyson. Brett Bender was 4th, Rhyse Melville 5th and Glen Christensen 6th.

Adams recorded fastest time of 1hr 26min for the 56km.

Limit riders Wayne Flint, John Burgess, Rob Doria and Murray Thompson rode strongly and led the race into the final kilometres.

Jeff Madex's “Highland Goat Run” scheduled for the Sunday 4th June will now be raced on Sunday 2nd July.

Next Saturday’s (27/5) event will be from Burgess Signs at 1:45pm.
