Nineteen riders contested Saturday’s event raced on the Glenaroua-Bidstrup’s Bridge circuit, starting and finishing at the Glenaroua Fire Station.

The event was a 45km “sealed handicap”. All riders start together, each rider’s race time recorded and individual handicaps deducted after the event. The best net time wins.

Daniel Sanders,who was able to stay with the faster riders early in the race, recorded a net time of 1hour and 7secs. to win the event narrowly from John Burgess, with a strong ride to be just 17secs down on Sanders. Warren Osborne continued his good form to finish third. Brett Bender, Rob Ekberg and Wayne Flint completed the top six placings.

Kevin Simmons recorded the best “scratch” time of 1hour 12mins 14secs, in a sprint finish for line honors from Ron Burgess, Brett Loney and Alan Adams. Racing next Saturday (26/8) is from Burgess Signs at 2pm
