Hector Morales and Gorge Libonatti from the Hinchinbrook club demolished the 18-rider 36km A-Grade race at Heffron Park on Saturday 9 October 2004. In an awesome demonstration of sheer power and strength, the pair broke away early in the race to built a 1km lead on the chasing bunch. The pair sprinted for first and second place with Morales winning. The average speed was 41kmh. The bunch sprint for the minor places saw Chris Jenkins (Randwick Botany) third, Nick Rathborne (Eastern Suburbs) fourth and Josh Marden (Randwick Botany) finishing fifth.
