Roberts wins stage three
Pfannberger keeps leader's jersey

Team Kuota-Senges' Luke Roberts won stage three, and a strong second place by Austrian champion Christian Pfannberger enabled the Barloworld rider to strengthen his hold on the pink leader's jersey. Belgian National Team rider Dominique Cornu finished in third for the day.
The attacks began with climber Felix Cardenas exerting pressure on the chasing peloton to fend off attacks that might threaten his team-mate Pfannberger's lead. On the final climb Christopher Froome worked with the overall race leader together to position him for the sprint finish.
"Today I was concerned during the race because of the very hot temperature which can make the race tough for even the strongest cyclists. Froome and Pfannberger surprised me in the last climb as they were still looking very strong. Because of the weather this is definitely one of the hardest Giro del Capos!," said Barloworld team manager Claudio Corti.
