The Stages

Riders ready to tackle Ohio

The Tour of Ohio is a developmental stage race taking place on the open roads and city streets throughout Central and Southeast Ohio. Notables that have participated in previous Tours of Ohio include Greg Henderson, now with T-Mobile, and New Zealand Olympian Hayden Godfrey and 1997 National Road Champion Paul Martin.

The Tour of Ohio begins with a 40 mile criterium on a tight figure eight shaped course in Wapakoneta. The next stage is a tough circuit race in Gambier with an uphill finish guaranteed to reward the strong men in the race. The third stage is for the climbers as it will be an arduous 70 mile road race contested over the steep climbs of the Hocking Hills in southeast Ohio. On Thursday, the fourth stage will take place in Worthington over a difficult 1.2 mile circuit that winds up and down through the tree lined streets of suburbia. Stage five is a circuit race in Yellow Springs which includes a short yet very steep climb on each of five laps that will take the sting out of the legs of all but the strongest. The final stage will be contested in a criterium on a four-corner, flat, and fast course in Springfield.
