Vuelta a Espana winner Alexandre Vinokourov, Kazakhstan national champion Andrey Kashechkin, and Astana rider Serguei Yakovlev turned out for the fourth annual criterium in honour of the late Cofidis rider, who died tragically in a crash during the 2003 edition of Paris- Nice. All three of the Kazakh professionals finished in the bunch, however, as the 50km race was won by Bolat Raimbekov.
