That old one-two for T-Mobile

T-Mobile's number one and two sprinters finished second and first in Saturday's fourth stage of the Rheinland-Pfalz Rundfahrt. Andre Greipel repeated his success from the first stage and won the race's Queen stage over 193 kilometres ahead of teammate Olaf Pollack and Werner Riebenbauer of Team Vorarlberg. Gerolsteiner's Rene Haselbacher finished sixth, in the same time as Greipel, and retained the leader's jersey.
A bit of spring snow greeted the riders at the start in Bitburg, and it stayed cool but dry for most of the day. A five-man group, including three Kaiku riders, escaped and led for a long time, but with not more than a few minutes' advantage. After the final mountain, 50 km before the finish, Gerolsteiner and T-Mobile worked together to chase down the escapees.
"Kaiku tried to make our life difficult, but we did everything to defend the jersey, and with success," said Gerolsteiner directeur sportif Udo Bölts. The combined efforts of the two German teams lead to a mass sprint, which the magenta-clad riders won. "I'm especially happy that Andre won," said T-Mobile DS Frans van Looy. "He and Olaf rode very strong today. Together with Gerolsteiner, we held the field together and the sprint possible for the two of them."
Haselbacher leads in the GC with five seconds over Pablu Urtasan of Kaiku and seven seconds over Ricardo Serrano, also of Kaiku, who today moved up into third place. He knocked T-Mobile's Thomas Ziegler down to 4th, 8 seconds down.
