Gibb takes his second win

The third stage of the race took the riders over the same course as stage 2 of the Tour of the South last September. Riders kept an even pace for the first two laps of the race, after which a group of 4 managed to escape the bunch, Duncan Urqhart (Agkiso-Dart-Cyclingtv) , Chris Belsham (JE James RT), Wesley Cole (PCA) and Henry Furniss (Ride Beyond), together they managed to extend the break to a 2 minute maximum. However hard chasing by the PCA team soon reeled them back to within 30 seconds by the end of the next lap. On lap for a group of 10 riders escaped the pack including Wesley Cole again with the other nine who finished in the lead group, this pack was joined in the final stages of the last lap by Tony Gibb and Malcolm Elliott (both PCA) who bridged the gap and drove the break along. Gibb took the sprint from Elliott with Neil Coleman (Agisko-Dart-cyclingtv) taking third. A crash at the foot of the finish rise resulted in the group away being credited with the same time.
