Valen too strong

Anita Valen won the second Holland Hills Classic in front of a huge crowd that came out for the final race of the Dutch Topcompetition in Gulpen.
With 10 climbs (five ascents of the Kruisberg, four of the Schweiberg and once up the Gulpenerberg) and a distance of almost 126 km, this race was very tough for the 160 women who started. In occasionally very bad weather conditions with rain, wind and hail, a front group of four riders stayed at the front for almost 100km, Trixi Worrack (Nürnberger), Anita Valen (Vlaanderen), Arenda Grimberg (Therme Skin Care) and Josephine Groenveld (Van Bemmelen). The crumbled peloton didn't have the power to close the gap. Trixi Worrack was the most active rider in the front group and won the mountain classification. After dropping Josephine Groenveld and Arenda Grimberg, Anita Valen won the sprint 'ā deux'.
