Australian team report

Today, Monday 25th April, was the GP Liberazione in Rome. The is one of the biggest Under 23 races in Italy with the final laps being shown live on National TV. The Circuit is 6km long and the race is over 23 laps.

The AIS Mapei Aqua Australia team consisting celebrated a win by Chris Sutton being supported by James Meadley, Simon Clarke, Nic Sanderson and Matt Goss. The team overcame an earlier setback when Nic punctured and after a slow wheel change and help from James Meadley, failed to regain the fast moving bunch. Simon Clarke went with an early move which stayed clear until 5 laps to go. He continued to ride aggressively, helping to set up Chris. Chris attacked with just over 2km remaining and hung on for an impressive win
