Stage 4 - April 30: Downtown Silver City Criterium, 40/35 laps
Wells and Malone take out the crit

Mountain biker Todd Wells (GT/Hyundai) and Cat Malone (Webcor Builders) took out their respective events in Stage Four of Tour of the Gila today. The criterium in downtown Silver City is a one-mile course with the finish line along the main street of town, climbing up to the back straight before undulating along the back coming into a flying final corner to the finish line.
In the men's event, the race ended up in a field sprint, with Wells' win earning himself valuable time bonus seconds, moving him up from fifth to fourth in the General Classification in front of Vbaldo Mesa (Tecos), whilst in the women's race a small break of non-GC riders went up the road gaining a minute on the rest of the field. Malone won the six person sprint from Molly Hummel (Tokyo Joe's) and Anna Milkowski (CRCA Team Lipton).
Tomorrow's final stage, also known as the Gila Monster Road Race, is the reverse course of Stage Three and ends with the epic climb up to Pinos Altos. The stage could be a deciding factor for the General Classification, especially in the men's race where Andrew Bajadali's (Vitamin Cottage) lead still sits at just three seconds.
