Baranauskas solo

Right from the start there were a lot of attacks but no riders could escape until after 60 kilometers when Lithuanian Aivaras Baranauskas took 30 seconds. The rider who participated in the Olympic Games for in the individual and team pursuit kept riding with that difference for 15 kilometers, and finally the rest let him go and he took a maximum lead of 9 minutes. In the difficult final 25 kilometres there were a lot of attackings in the peloton which brought back the gap to 4 minutes at the finish line.
