Acqua e Sapone's Crescenzo d'Amore has taken his first ever professional win in the third stage of the Settimana Coppi&Bartali, which finished in a bunch sprint. D'Amore beat home Czech veteran Jan Svorada (Lampre) and Fassa Bortolo's Guido Trenti and was clearly overjoyed with his performance.

"This win reminds me of what I first was," D'Amore was quoted by La Gazzetta dello Sport. "I consider myself a sprinter, and in this new team I have managed to rediscover that conviction. I feel more mature. I turned professional a bit too soon, but it is difficult to say no when Mapei calls you up. In Acqua e Sapone everyone worked on my head, my morale, and then made me train the right way. This winter, I did three training camps. I've always dreamed of winning a race and finally I've achieved it."

Mirko Celestino (Saeco) remained as race leader with two stages to come.
