Race 12 - July 19: Ciao Café Tour of Holy Hill

Sayers gets number three

By Superweek

Michael Sayers won from a five-man breakaway at the Ciao Cafe Tour of Holy Hill Road Race to win his third stage at the 2004 International Cycling Classic in only four days of racing. Sayers and four others established a breakaway on the fourth of 13 laps although their gap to the main field hovered at only a minute for most of the day. Harm Jansen was the first rider to finish from the remains of the field and with his performace climbed into a tie with Carlos Vargas for the overall lead. A tiebreaker awarded the yellow jersey to Jansen going into Tuesday's race at the Global Communications Lake Front Road Race.
