  • The peloton rolls out town.
  • Frank Mapel (Specialized), whose wedding is scheduled for Monday, has a unique kind of bachelor party.
  • Phil Zajicek (Saturn) takes a turn up front.
  • A 6 man break, including Danielson (Saturn), Drew Miller (Trek/VW All Stars) Mike Carter (Denver Spoke), & Walker Ferguson (Trek/VW All Stars).
  • Drew Miller (Trek/VW All Stars) has had an incredible spring. After winning both the Vuelta de Bisbee and the Tour of the Gila, he rode to 2nd place today.
  • Danielson (Saturn), Miller (Trek/VW All Stars) & Carter (Denver Spoke) rode away from the other 3 in the break.
  • A chase group of 8, including Travis Brown (Trek/VW All Stars), Chris Wherry (Navigators) & Frank Mapel (Specialized) attempt to bring back the leaders.
  • Chris Wherry (Navigators) chose a brutal race as his first race back since recovering from a recent illness.
  • Local hero and expectant father, Travis Brown (Trek/VW All Stars) had a strong ride among friends and family.
  • Former Junior World Champion Walker Ferguson (Trek/VW All Stars) adds to the list of incredible mountain bikers racing today. He will take 4th place today.
  • Mountain bike legend Ned Overend (Specialized) completed his 23rd consecutive Iron Horse and rounded out our list of renowned mountain bikers.
  • Mike Carter (Denver Spoke) had a strong ride today and finished 3rd.
  • Drew Miller (Trek/VW) has had one of the best seasons of his career.
  • Tom Danielson (Saturn) has had an amazing ride at the 2003 Iron Horse, breaking the course's 7 year old record.
  • Breathtaking views were around every corner as the racers headed further towards the town of Silverton.
  • Danielson (Saturn) and Miller (Trek/VW All Stars) were eventually the only two left in our original break as Mike Carter dropped out of the lead group.
  • Finally, it was only Danielson as the leaders headed up Coal Bank Pass.
  • Danielson (Saturn) wins!!
  • Fans of all ages turned out in Silverton to cheer for the riders!!
