Stage 2 - June 5: Tolmezzo-Erto, 142 km

Australian Team Report

By Brian Stephens, AIS U23 manager

The second stage of the Giro Friuli was supposed to be the toughest and we didn't have the best of days. None of the team was able to go with the front group of 40 over the big climb of Monte Rest. However Aussie, Dave McPartland (Bibanese) was, and finished 24th and moved to 16th on the GC. Bernie Sulzberger finished outside the time limit and will not start tomorrow. The stage was won by Massimiliano Maisto fro Podenzana. Our team will now concentrate on stage results.
