Stage 5 - July 12: Leffel Center Awbrey Butte Circuit Race, 82/58 miles
Bessette Hat Trick, Clinger takes a win.

Lyne Bessette (Saturn) and David Clinger (Prime Alliance) won their respective events at the Cascade Cycling Classic today. Bessette's win increases her lead by another three minutes over second place, whereas in the men's event Tom Danielson (Saturn) keeps his overall lead with a second placing in today's circuit race.
The course is a hilly circuit race starting on the outskirts of Bend from Central Oregon Community college traveling toward the town of Tumalo and back along the shoulder of Awbrey Butte. Each lap is 13.74 miles with two steep climbs, one KOM, one feed and 950 feet of climbing per lap.
In the women's race Bessette continued her recent form to ride away from the field eventually gaining 3'02" on Heather Albert (Team Basis).Albert also had another impressive ride today leaving the group to finish another 4'14" in front of third place Jessica Phillips (Saturn), giving her the confidence to go back to Altoona and defend her title at The International.
In the men's race the final sprint came down to ten riders who had escaped the bunch during the hilly circuit on the last lap. Consistent with his strong season to date it was Clinger who managed to cross the line for the stage win in front of tour leader Danielson and Adham Sbeih (Sierra Nevada Clifbar). Danielson now goes into the final stage with a 49" lead on Jonathan Vaughters (Prime Alliance).
The criterium is slightly changed from last year and is now a wide open "L" shaped course set in the Old Mill District of Bend overlooking the Deschutes River.
