Pre-race favourite Zak Carr (Team Clean - Fresh Start) was clear winner of Reading CC's District Time Trial series event at Bradfield, Berkshire. On a beautifully calm but crisp morning he proved four minutes too good for the nearest challenger over two laps of the undulating Bucklebury circuit.

Despite describing the technical course as the hardest he had ridden this year, Carr was never in danger. The battle for the minor placings was significantly closer, with Paul Pickup (Liphook Cycles RT) clinching second place ahead of Sri Chinmoy's Richard Pettinger.

In the event for Veterans, Women and Juniors Dave Dent (SP Systems Wightlink RT) romped with 90 seconds to spare over fast junior David Kingsbury (www.agiskoviner.co.uk).

The event was a new promotion for Reading CC and sported a generous prize list supported by A.W.Cycles and the Fine Wine Service.
