The 10th Tour du Benin has been won by veteran Inoussa Saka, who also won in 1992, 1994, 1996, 1998. The 37 year-old veteran of Benin cycling secured the race in the second stage that he won by five minutes after an impressive attack with 30 km to go.

The race had 28 participants: 16 in three national teams of Benin, and 12 from national teams of Togo and Niger. They competed for no less than 15 jerseys in various categories.
