At the Kamarooka turn a tight finish looked eminent. Tim Decker and Jacob Lea were really working the scratch bunch after a week's racing in the Tour of the Murray River. When scratch caught the two-minute bunch, the pace increased and the combined group looked like they would scoop the pool. But it wasn't to be as the front three groups made the most of the slight tail wind and drove home like the late night express. On the line Mark Williams held off a fast-finshing Cindy Magro and Paul Evans. The mid-markers came in 23 seconds later and the scratchies at one minute led home by Jarrod Moroni proving his class.
