The grades consisted of A through C with a number of riders promoted up the ranks. Peter Weston, Simon Woods and Glen O'Brien lead the charge for A Grade, two and a half minutes ahead of Lee Stevens. Ruth Strout and Janine Webb competed in B Grade after dropping their fellow competitors within the second lap of the extended Monash Circuit. Lining up for C Grade was Gordon Lawton, Angelo Ylia and John Eshman who remained a tight unit for the entire 40-minute race. Strout and Webb had a convincing lead over the remaining 40-minute field with Strout seizing control of the race in the final sprint claiming line honours ahead of Webb. C Grade continued it's jovial finishes with Eshman left high and dry in first place after Lawton and Ylia decided against claiming a top position for this weeks competition. A Grade had an interesting sprint when a courteous driver was being mindful of both the cyclists on the roadside and the on-coming riders. At the 20 metre mark the competitors had their chance to push it home and have a tight bunch sprint. During their race, Stevens was forced to chase the leading A Grade riders until about the 36-minute mark, Woods, Weston and O'Brien worked well together only losing 30 seconds a lap to the clubs official A Grader. Woods claimed a proud victory over Stevens ahead of third place O'Brien and final place getter Weston. PhotographyFor a thumbnail gallery of these images, click here Images by Riverland CC
