Results and Reports from AustraliaPromoters wishing to submit results should send them to Cyclingnews Peel District Cycling ClubPinjarra Classic, Sunday July 29, 2007The Peel Cycling Club has been busy in recent weeks hosting several big events on the cycling calendar. Early in July the club hosted the State Team Time Trial Championships which attracted riders such as Hilton McMurdo and Eddy Hollands as well as local youngsters Troy Main, Wade Longworth and Luke Ghasseb. The Club also held a Junior Tour which included Time Trial and Road Race disciplines. Last Sunday the Peel Club with support from The premier Hotel Pinjarra and Alcoa hosted the Pinjarra Classic Road Race in parallel with the Cyclo Sportiff event Les Peletons de Pinjarra. The Pinjarra Classic covered 130km and included some punishing hill climbs which eventually was decided 150metres from the line with Cameron Meyer storming away from Chris Beeck to claim a well earned win. Further back Douglas Repacholi was third ahead of Mark Petterson with Paul Williams rounding out the top five. Michael Dowell from the Peel club slotted in ninth overall. Meyer also claimed the King of the Mountains crown with Beeck and Repacholi filling the minor placings. In the 65km supporting event, it all went down to the wire for six competitors digging deep for line honours but Patrick Gill got the nod ahead of Michael Bonner with Sam Davis third. Raymond Loly and Dave Berglund from the host club both finished in the top 10, strong efforts from Phil Deisel and Troy Main saw them finish midfield.
