The race which is the major event of the year for the Northern Veterans was held in perfect conditions. The 68 starters all finished in record time with a strong tail wind for the 65km race. Ellison and his co-markers received 30 mins start from a large scratch which included the best of Tasmania's veteran cyclists. With 10km to go it was evident that the leading bunch was not going to be caught. Ellison made his move on the last big climb before the finish and hung on to score a great win by 50 metres. A highlight of the race was the next 3 placings were taken out by lady riders. Glenn Myler recorded fastest time with an average of 46km an hour. Sun.17th racing at Bishopsbourne starting at 10am. Entries close next weekend for the Deloraine-Latrobe race to be held on Oct. 24th.
