The event was the first Sunday race of the summer road season, which was great for Rutter as he won convincingly from a very tight chasing bunch that included Peter Jones and Tim Morris, who took second and third place respectively. The B-grade event was won by Alex Verdi, as he put seven seconds into the chase at the finish, with Peter Cooper (Sutherland) coming second and Lionel Covington third. C-grade saw two new members ride extremely well; Tony Sampson outsprinted the field to win the event from Tony Pulo and Dean Kelly, and new member Tony Kniepp finished with the bunch in his first race. Congratulations to Karen and Adam Rourke on the birth of their new daughter. Contact Lionel for entry into next week's handicap.
