Oceania Cycling Championships ITT - CRInvercargill, New Zealand, November 14, 2007McCauley, O'Donnell take ITT titlesBy Nathan Burdon, The Southland Times New Zealand representative Gordon McCauley took out this morning's elite men's Individual Time Trial at the Oceania Championships at Winton, near Invercargill. McCauley was nearly two minutes faster than his closest competition, fellow New Zealand cyclist Joe Chapman, who in turn was only three hundredths of a second faster than Reon Park. The New Zealanders had the elite men's division all to themselves with no Australian entrants. Park was left to rue a bronze medal after he was sent away from the start line because he had no numbers on his bike. By the time he got back he had missed his start time and along with it any chance of beating Chapman. Australian Bridie O'Donnell was a convincing winner in the elite women's section, beating out New Zealand's Dale Tye and Rachel Mercer, from Wellington.
