Radosz proves worthy

Robert Radosz of Intel - Action proved a worthy champion of the Tour of Hainan by taking the final stage to secure his overall lead. Jenis Galimzyanov of the Russian National Team finished second in the 107.4-kilometre stage to Sanya
How it unfolded
The last stage of the Tour of Hainan was only 107 kilometres long and finished in the city of Sanya. There were two climbs of the third category in the beginning and with four riders within four points it was an exciting mountain classification fight. At the first KOM it was Tang Wang Yip to move into third, and the fifth rider within four points.
Also for the green points jersey there were still three riders within three points. However, at the points sprints there were break-away groups and this classification would be decided at the finish line.
At the second KOM a small group was ahead so Mikhail Antonov won the best climber classification before Roman Klimov, both from the Russian National Team.

Near Sanya the wind was stronger and the tempo went up towards the finish. It came down to a mass sprint with the Intel Action leading out. They even put a small gap around the corner going on the beach boulevard with 600 metres to go. It was yellow jersey Robert Radosz who took the victory in the last stage, the points classification and the overall victory.
The closing ceremony in the garden of the Asia Pacific Convention Centre was spectacular with the teams and guests in the middle of fireworks during the awards ceremony and Chinese music artists playing during the dinner. With Chinese delicacies from buffet to a complete calf at the grill – the dinner was delicious. With plenty of beer and good wine the teams all celebrated together, into the warm night, the end of a great cycling race on the island of Hainan in China.
