• Ricardo Velarde (Mexico) came in 38th.
• Nikita Novikov (Russian Federation) heading for third place.
• Fidel Mangal (Saint Lucia) put in a good ride without the use of a specific time trial machine.
• Jack Bobridge (Australia) missed a medal by 25 seconds.
• Taylor Phinney (United States Of America) heading for a junior world title.
• John Degenkolb (Germany) finished 25 seconds down on Phinney to take silver.
• Tom David (New Zealand) rounded out the top five.
