Kodak Gallery/Sierra Nevada scored its first NRC win of the season at the dark and rainy Raleigh Twilight criterium, with Canadian track cyclist Martin Gilbert taking the sprint ahead of Ivan Stevic (Toyota-United Pro) and Frank Travieso (AEG-Toshiba-JetNetwork).

Martin bridged up to the solo Stevic half way through the race with Trevieso close behind. "Martin was really impressive tonight," said team director Jonas Carney. "Not just winning the race, but beating a really crafty rider like Stevic who's won a ton of races, and a sprinter like Travieso. For Kodakgallery.com/Sierra Nevada, this is a big win and it's exactly how we wanted to get started with this set of races."

In the women's race Sarah Caravalla (TEAm Lipton) won the field sprint ahead of Shannon Hutchinson (Aaron's Corporate Furnishings) and Kelly Benjamin (Cheerwine).

This race marks the beginning of an east coast swing of races, concluding with the Triple Crown in Philadelphia. Most teams now travel to Baltimore for the raleigh/KBS Cup tomorrow.
