Jure Golcer of the Continental Team Perutnina broke away to win the GP Triberg-Schwarzwald two minutes ahead of his teammate Hrvoje Miholjevic. Only 23 riders went into the last of seven laps of the mountainous course. A trio of riders broke away early and built up a lead of up to three minutes before Teams T-Mobile and Gerolsteiner worked together to bring the field back together.

Eventually a foursome got away, a foursome made up of three riders from the Slovenian Team Perutnina and one Phonak rider. In the final round Golcer was able to build up his lead and take the surprise victory.
