Coyot surprises Hushovd
Cofidis makes it two out of two

Arnaud Coyot (Cofidis) won Sunday's Classic Haribo, surprisingly beating Norwegian Thor Hushovd (Credit Agricole) in a two man sprint, and giving Cofidis its second Coupe de France win in two days. The pair had attacked with over 25 km to go, and Hushovd generously did most of the work. However, when the Norwegian tried to shake Coyot with 3 km left, he failed, and the Frenchman beat him in the sprint. Mauro Facci (Barloworld) led Kevin Van Impe (Quick.Step) home for third, half a minute behind.
Coyot was active very early on, getting in a four man break after just four kilometres. With rain showers and strong wind, the break managed to gain four minutes on the peloton at the half way point of the 203 km race. They were reeled in by a group of counter-attackers, including Thor Hushovd, with approximately 35 km to go. Coyot amazingly still had something left and attacked, and only Hushovd went with him. at 23 km to go, the pair had 1'20 over a group containing Facci, Leon Van Bon (Davitamon-Lotto) and Kevin Van Impe (Quick.Step), with three time winner Jaan Kirsipuu not far back.
Hushovd was the strongest in the break, and did most of the work. But when he tried to attack his partner with 3 km left, he did not have enough. Hushovd was still confident in his sprint, and waited until 100 metres to go before jumping. But the effort of the breakaway had been too much, and Coyot came around to take the biggest win of his career.
