40th GP Pino Cerami - 1.1Belgium, April 7, 20052004 Results Results Past winners Reus aloneDutch rider Kai Reus has won the 40th edition of the GP Pino Cerami, crossing the line solo ahead of Bert De Waele (Landbouwkrediet - Colnago) and Carlos Barredo (Liberty Seguros-Würth). Reus, the recent winner of the Tour de Normandie, attacked on the last climb of the Tienne du Dragon with four kilometres to go, and neither De Waele nor Barredo could hold him. The race was otherwise marked by an impressive solo breakaway by Carlos Barredo, who attacked after only 11 km of the 184 km distance, and stayed away until he was caught in the closing stages by Reus, De Waele and Lagutin, who subsequently punctured. Although he didn't have the legs for the win, Barredo held on for a very respectable third place. PhotographyFor a thumbnail gallery of these images, click here Images by AFP Photo
