23rd Chrono des Herbiers - 1.3/1.9.2/1.7.2/1.8France, October 17, 20042003 Results Results Past winners Chrono des Herbiers crowns French seasonFrench champion Alexandre Binet won the Junior Chrono des Herbiers time trial on a 20.5 km parcours today. Anthony Martin got second, 0'12 behind the winner and 0'24 faster than Damien Gaudin, who placed third. In the women's time trial, Edwige Pitel (VC La Pomme-Marseille) was 2 seconds faster than Australian Kathy Watt and completed the same course as the Juniors with an average speed of 41.129 km/h. Russian Zoulfia Zabirova finished third. The Belgian Olivier Kaisen took the victory in the Espoirs category, contested on a 38.4 km parcours which he mastered at 46.018 km/h. French champion Florian Morizot finished second 1'45 behind Kaisen, and Nicolas Rousseau placed third with a 2'12 gap. Finally, the Elite Men's competition saw Bert Roesems (Relax-Bodysol) on top of the final standings after the 48.1 km time trial. Vladimir Gussev (CSC) finished second, 10 seconds behind the winner. The German Sebastian Lang (Gerolsteiner) got third. World TT Champion Michael Rogers (Quick Step), the race favourite, could only achieve seventh place.
