Tour of Korea - 2.5Korea, June 12-20, 2004Main Page Results Previous Stage Next Stage Stage 2 - June 14: Chun Chon - Dae Kwan Mountain, 156 kmMcCann wins againBy Shane Stokes, Irishcycling.com Fresh from his victory yesterday, Olympic hopeful David McCann took another four world ranking points when he won the 156 kilometre second stage of the Tour of Korea today. McCann (Giant Asia) went clear on the final climb of Dae Kwan Mountain to reach the finish alone, taking over the yellow jersey by some 28 seconds. McCann notched up the first of his two consecutive wins when he sprinted to victory in Chun Chon yesterday. However he failed to take the race lead then due to a below par prologue time trial. He had been affected by jet lag and dehydration after the long flight to Korea. Today's win moves him to the top of the general classification and ensures a haul of ten UCI points this far. He takes four points for each of his two stage wins and also two more for taking the yellow jersey. The Tour of Korea continues tomorrow with the 86 kilometre Kyung Po Lake criterium stage in Kang Leung. McCann is keen to maximise his points scoring opportunities as this will further his chances of being selected for the Irish team for this year's Olympics. At the moment it looks like a four way battle between Mark Scanlon, McCann, Ciaran Power and David O'Loughlin for the two places on offer.
