This time the advantage to Hutchinson (Madigan Pro-Bike Centre) was 22 seconds as he stormed round the hilly Carigantlet seven-mile circuit in 16 minutes 22 seconds. Only four riders were inside the 17 minute mark, with Evans on 16.44, Ben Morrow (East Antrim-Audi) on 16.54 and Ryan Connor (Ballymena-Scott Rooftiles) on 16.57. This had the result of Evans leapfroging from fourth to first on overall classification to don the Race Leaders Pink Jersey for the afternoons 50 mile loop around the Ards Peninsula. Connor also moved in to second, deposing overnight leader George Rose (Energy Cycles RT) to third spot.
