Trophée d'Or Féminin - 2.9.2France, August 27-31, 2003Main Page Results Previous Stage Next Stage Stage 2b - August 28: Orval - St Armand Montrond ITT, 12 kmGollan reassures her leadBy Kristy Scrymgeour Olivia Gollan convinces the peloton that her yellow jersey, earned by the result of an unfortunate crash in the mornings stage, is in fact deserved. Gollan won the time trial despite the thunderstorm that picked up midway through the event. The first three kilometers of today's time trial were technical as were the last 2km, made more so because of more rain. Half of the field had already finished when the storm came down, leaving many thinking that it may have a big effect in the overall standing. Gollan howeve,r went out hard despite the danger of falling, her winning ride bringing her home ahead of Henka Kupfernagel (Nurnberger) and Zoulfia Zabirova (Prato Marathon Bike) and ensuring her lead in the tour. Tomorrow's stage begins and ends in the town of Orval, covering 94km of more relatively flat, but technical terrain.
