A new start: The Tom Danielson diary 2005

After his ill-fated stint with Fassa Bortolo in 2004, likable American climbing specialist Tom Danielson looks to have found a more conducive home for 2005 with Lance Armstrong's Discovery Channel team. Follow his diary on Cyclingnews as he rides alongside the Boss as part of Discovery's ProTour arsenal.

March 29 - Paris-Camembert

Learning, Lance and lots of racing...

Hey cyclingnews readers! I am writing to you on my way to France for Paris-Camembert.

Normally I am not too excited about one day races, but this one I get to do with Lance, so I am pretty pumped. Not only am I here to help Lance out, but also to continue to make progress, learning about the peloton and how to race at this high level.

I feel like I made some real progress last week at Setmana Catalana and I'm just so motivated to be learning from my amazing team. I cannot tell you how thankful I am to be working for and with Lance, Johan, and the whole Discovery crew. It is also rewarding hearing that on the other side of the world my wife Kristin is finding her legs just in time for Redlands.

Please, everyone cheer for her as she has worked super hard this winter. I get to see her in a few weeks in Georgia and I can't wait! My family will also be there, who I haven't seen since my wedding last October, and they'll also be following the race. Well, it is time to get out on the bike and get ready for tomorrow!
