In this diary, you will find stories about members of the Marco Polo Cycling Club, including reports from many races in non-traditional cycling countries that form part of our racing program.

The Marco Polo Cycling Club is a cycling club organised through the Internet, with riders from New Zealand, Hong Kong, Mongolia, Uzbekistan, Albania, Colombia and the Netherlands. The club was founded in December 2000, and after one year, we grew to over 500 members from 45 countries.

In 2001, the Marco Polo Cycling Club raced in more then 10 countries on five continents. From the 14 stage races we raced in, we won the general classification four times! We also race in Europe, and with more than 15 podium placings, we have enjoyed much publicity and helped a lot of riders from non-traditional cycling countries do a good European program. The only area where the club has not been successful yet is in finding a sponsor that wants to benefit from the international exposure that the Marco Polo Elite team receives.
