GP Kortemark, No UCI Ranking, National Event

Belgium, September 4, 1997

"Last year I had no luck, now things are going well" said Jo Planckaert obviously very happy. "Recently I won a stage in Burgos, that was my first win for the season. But here is number two, and it was a really nice race." In Kortemark the amateurs rode very slowly in the first lap in their protest against the professionals.

In the top group of 28 Jo Planckaert had 5 or 5 team mates who rode perfectly for their top sprinter. Peter Spaenhoven and Gert Vanderaerden came a length too short.
