Rominger Classic, Switzerland
Explanation
In this race, hobby-bikers race alongside famous PRO riders. The 1996 edition
of the
"race" had 4068 participants. The whole pack is divided in 8 or 9
groups and each group is guided by two PROS. These groups are moving
in a pace of about 30 km/h. At km 84 (Altitude about 480m) the PROS
leave their group, go to the head of the pack and the race will be
started. The race is ending in Crans-Montana at an altitude of 1460m.
Every biker has to pay 130 Swiss Francs for his participation.The
prizemoney for all the PROS is around 200 000 Swiss Francs. The profit
for the organisators will be in the range of 80 000 to 100 000 Swiss
Francs
