This was the last race for the professional season. There were 60 professionals at the
start in Ertbrandstraat, Putte. Roesems, De Smet, Pauwels, Guns and Raman attacked early and built up a maximum gap of 6 minutes. With 60 of the 160 kms to go, a group comprising Van der Poel, Geert Omloop, Wim Omloop, Cretskens, Desmet, Declercq, Beikirch, Heirewegh, Talen,
Vandaele and Van der Wolf joined their colleagues at the front. Talen - who next
year will ride for the Dutch amateur team Piels was the strongest in the end.
