Preview

The XXXIV edition of the Escalada a Montjuďc was oficially presented yesterday, even t which closes the Spanish race calendar. The Escalada (climb) maintains its tradition with a format that leaves in suspense the overall winner until after the second section, a time trial. 28 professionals will take the start at 12:15 on Sunday to cover the five laps/climbs of the 24.3km course. At 2:26PM and in reverse order as the classification on the road race, the 8.7km time trial will start. Some of the riders participating will be Laurent Jalabert, Alex Zülle, Fernando Escartín, Richard Virenque, José María Jiménez, Melcior Mauri, Roberto Heras, Pascal Richard, Fabian Jeker (last year's winner), Francesco Casagrande, Marcos Serrano & Félix García Casas.
