The Belgian, who won on his 31st birthday at Lugano on Sunday, had said after the recent Paris-Tours race that he would quit professional cycling.
"I don't know when I'll stop," he told a news conference near Milan's Linate airport. "But I'll race next season, that's for sure.
"I'll concentrate on trying to win a few classics, starting with the Milan San Remo and going through to the Amstel Gold Race.
"I won't do the Tour de France, but I will race the Tour of Switzerland and the end of season classics."
As for the previous decision to give up, the Mapei rider said: "My wife told me I was too young and too good to quit."
Museeuw will be back on his bike on Wednesday for the Milan-Torino and on Saturday for the Tour of Lombardy.
