Boardman vs Rominger

Chris Boardman is to return to competition after his 1 July Tour prologue
injury on 14 October 95 when he rides a pursuit against Tony Rominger on
the Manchester velodrome in the UK. Boardman will ride his first road race
since the injury on 18 October 95 in Milan--Turin.

Lance @ Worlds - DNS

As many of you may have heard by now, America's favorite Lance Armstrong
will not race the 1995 world championship road race in Colombia. Rumored
explanations including "he's burned out for the season," to "the course
isn't suited for his skills," have been cited.

Manchester Meet Cancelled

The 13-14 October 95 Manchester Velodrome cycling event has been
cancelled because of poor ticket sales. With that, Scot Obree has abandoned
his 14 October 95 attempt on the hour record. Also gone is his head-to-head
matchup against Tony Rominger on the first day of the meet.
Promotors commented: "We were going to be struggling to get the
velodrome half full. Apart from the fact that we are a commercial concern
there was no way we could have gone ahead with Rominger riding before empty
seats."
