Olympic sprint Qualifying and Final

The event features a rider from each team dropping out at the end of each lap.

Australia dominated the Olympic sprints competition. The Open Men's team of Sean Eadie, Anthony Peden and Graham Sharman clocked 47.818 seconds. John Rastrick, Jason Craig and Matthew Sinton of New Zealand were 1.48sec behind the speedy Australians.
