Rominger has his last race

After 12 years, Tony Rominger has retired. The 36-year old won the Tour of Spain 3 times and the Giro once. He failed time after time to win the Tour de France despite often being considered a contender.

The former hour record holder was one of the great time trial specialists of his generation. He won the GP Nations twice and the GP Eddy Merckx.

He rode his last race in a Criterium in Castellon, Spain.
