Indurain to retire?

Team owner's of ONCE and Banesto, both of whom are bidding to sign five-times Tour de France winner Miguel Indurain next season, said Wednesday they believe Indurain is going to retire.

"I think Indurain is going to pull-out," Eusebio Unzue, the Banesto director, told local press.

His ONCE counterpart echoed his sentiments.

"I used to think the opposite, but now I think he is going to call it a day," said Pablo Anton.

For his part, the Olympic one-hour gold-medallist is maintaining his silence, having recently returned from a month of holidays in the Carribean.
